Studium Biblicum Franciscanum Jerusalem celebrates the feast of Blessed Duns Scotus

The Studium Biblicum Jerusalem (Pontifical faculty of Biblical Sciences and Archaeology) will hold its inauguration of the academic year on Nov. 8th – the 700th anniversary of its patron Blessed John Duns Scotus.

The Studium Biblicum Jerusalem (Pontifical faculty of Biblical Sciences and Archaeology) will hold its inauguration of the academic year on Nov. 8th – the 700th anniversary of its patron Blessed John Duns Scotus.

Events on that day include a talk by Fr Paolo Martinelli from the Franciscan Institute for Spirituality (Rome); and another talk by the Franciscan Minister General Fr Jose Carballo on “The Word of God in the thoughts of Blessed John Duns Scotus”. Fr Frederic Manns will also present a summary of the Synod of Bishops which he attended as an expert.

On Nov.9th, the Franciscan Minister General will preside at Holy Mass at the Basilica of the Agony (Gethsemani) in commemoration of the 700th anniversary of Blessed Duns Scotus.

Students and friends of Duns Scotus Bible Centre are warmly welcomed to join this Mass spiritually (9am Israel time), and your prayer intentions will be remembered at the basilica.
