In the afternoon of 4 December 2010, 43 participants attended a Retreat at Duns Scotus Bible Centre. It was a short Retreat of three hours. The theme for reflection was “Isaiah – Prophet of Advent” and two talks were given.
Christmas not only commerorates the first coming of Jesus which happened 2,000 years ago, but it also points to the second coming of Christ, when He will resettle all the chaos in your lives. This Jesus who was born in a manger and became a divine meal - our Mass! With the Body of Christ in your hand and that's Christmas! Emmanuel!
The setting of the Retreat was at the Duns Scotus Bible Centre. Despite its locality at the heart of Causeway Bay, against a background of relaxing music and dimmed lights participants were provided with a peaceful and sacred space for deep reflections. Between the talks, there was also the recitation of the Rosary when it was a time of complete prayerful involvement.
Immediate feedback received was most positive. It was spiritually very innovative and ideal for many who could cast away their daily pressures for a few hours of solace to refresh their senses and be closer to God. The Centre was conveniently located and that more such Retreats should be arranged.
